What is Vinton Steel?

Vinton Steel, LLC takes responsibility to the environment very seriously. We know making steel has an impact on the environment; however, our products are essential to build the modern world and support items used each day. Therefore, we aim to minimize the environmental impact throughout our operations while still producing quality steel the world depends on. We are focused on environmental compliance and making our business more sustainable.

Steel is the most recycled material in the world and in North America alone; more than 80 million tons of steel are recycled or exported for recycling annually. The process used to make steel at Vinton Steel, LLC – EAF technology – is unique in that it’s based upon reusing “old”, or scrap, steel. In the EAF steelmaking process, up to 100 percent steel scrap can be used as feedstock in the melting process. On average, Vinton Steel, LLC recycles nearly 240,000 net tons of scrap steel each year and is the largest metal recycler in the area.
